Name: Hyuuga Shinto
Age: 14
Rank: Genin
Village: Konohagakure No Sato
Appearance: Shinto is pale in complexion, not what you would call muscular but a frame that hints the deadly strength she is capable of unleashing. Pale lavender eyes show the determination and hardships of her life, many scars hidden under the bandages on her wrists. The Hyuuga is commonly seen with fresh cuts, bruises, splinters, and other injuries daily from her extreme training routines. Her hair is jet black, bound in a fashion similar to Neji’s (in her defense, she was using the style long before he was).
Though her apparel changes, she is most commonly seen with a bronze T-shirt, fish net lining the sleeves and collar, with loose black pants and standard Shinobi sandals. Her garb is more suited to Ninja work than appearance, and she doesn’t give a thought to how ‘good’ she might look. She is more concerned with durable clothes that can withstand the level of activity that she goes through every day. Hidden beneath her Konoha Hitai-ate is the Curse Seal that is branded upon all Branch Members at the age of four, and she gazes at it with anger and hatred, a shackle that binds her because of something she couldn’t control and the Main Branch’s need to control the ‘lesser’ clan members.
History:
Shinto was born into a Lesser Family of the Hyuuga clan, the second child of two Hyuuga Jounin, hardly noted by any in higher positions of the clan. The only attention they paid her was when she needed her Seal and when she needed to begin her training. Shinto, as young as she was, developed a hatred for the Main Branch rather quickly. Already, she was observing their techniques and copying them with her Byakugan, observing their chakra coils and how much they exerted into their Jutsu.
When she began her training, her father was amazed to see her perform a lesser version of the Kaiten at age 6. Even though it required a lot of her Chakra, she pulled it off and managed to make it through the rest of the lesson. It was then that she realized she had to train… harder than ever. She had to prove to those swaggering scum in the Main Branch that anyone could be great. She learned of the supposed Heir to the Hyuuga throne, Lady Hinata, and made it her goal to defeat her in battle. That way their own heir would be proved inferior to those considered lesser.
Now Shinto spent hours perfecting her Chakra control, her Juuken and attacks, her Kaiten, chakra release… She often stumbled from her lessons bruised, cut, and bleeding before passing out. Despite her family’s protests, she forced herself through extreme conditions every day, to strengthen herself. Her father called it ‘stupid and pointless’, but she ignored any outside comments. ‘It’ll show soon enough… Just wait. Hinata will fall easily before you when you’re done.’ Her training continued, with her mind set on defeating Hinata. However, one day her goals changed.
Shinto had decided to face Hinata for a practice round to deduce her strength and decide how much more training she needed to put into her routine when she saw another Branch Member… Hinata was easily distinguishable for her lack of a curse seal, and as Shinto approached to declare her challenge, the Branch Member forced the Heiress to the ground, spitting insults at her. Hinata was helpless against his attacks, only being able to feebly avoid them. Shinto realized that Hinata would have proved no challenge for her, but her challenger, so happy to cut her down, would have proved quite a challenge. His skill was equal with hers, if not surpassing her own. And he bullied helpless, weaker opponents to make himself feel better. Who would commit such atrocities?
“Hey, bastard!” Her finger jabbed at Hinata’s attacker, and he turned to her with a scowl on his face. “What’s your name?” Shinto decided it was a reasonable question. The more she knew about him, the more she could discern weaknesses from his attacks with what she learned. His voice echoed back to her. “Hyuuga Neji.” ‘Ya know, the Hyuuga part is pretty obvious…’ The Hyuuga girl considered yelling that to this idiot called ‘Neji’, but decided not to. “What do you want?” His inquiry was filled with obvious contempt, as if he knew she wasn’t as good as him. “I suggest you stop that meaningless onslaught upon Lady Hinata! What wrong has she done you?” His snarl showed his irritation. “None of your business. Now leave me alone.” As the Hyuuga turned to make another strike upon the Heiress, Shinto shimmered into thin air and appeared behind Neji. A battle ensued.
Shinto had taken his wrist and dumped him to the ground. Neji had pushed himself back up with his hands, turning his fall into a kick. They carried on for sometime when Neji attempted a powerful kick to the chest. Shinto, with no other choice, unleashed her Kaiten, sending him into the dirt. With wide eyes, he rubbed his head and looked up at her with a mixture of anger and wonder. It was then that Hyuuga Neji stood and fled from a battle, something that Shinto considered announcing… But decided not to. When she searched for Hinata, the heiress was no where to be found, and Shinto returned to her home with a smile despite her injuries.
Now, Shinto had a new goal. Defeat Hyuuga Neji, at any cost. His bullying did not stop, to the point where he was even tormenting his own team-mate. Shinto wanted to Juuken him till Kingdom Come, but focused more on her training, satisfying herself with the occasional quick spar. Soon, the arrogant Hyuuga knew her name quite well, spitting at it in disgust, making her all the happier.
The Hyuuga girl entered the Konoha Ninja Academy at the age of thirteen, finding her skill lie mostly in Taijutsu and Ninjutsu, and began studying new techniques and ways she could perfect her old ones. Her time in the academy was also the time of her most extreme training routines, so fierce and rigorous that she could hardly make it home from the Training Grounds late at night and rarely did. The extremities paid off, for her grades accelerated.
Soon, she faced Ashita Hokori in a battle, the both of them declaring it a draw, and then went on to be placed into a Genin team lead by Fujita Enishi. While she did not think very highly of him or his motives, she respected the Jounin and he taught her techniques, the most recent being her favorite being Hageshiikaze, a powerful Ninjutsu involving a spiral of wind that was similar to Kaiten. Under his Guidance, Shinto discovered that her Chakra was Lightning/Wind based, giving her a guideline to which Jutsu she should attempt to master.
Currently, Shinto still remains at Genin level, but is determined to become a Chuunin.
Jutsu:
Hageshiikaze
A Jutsu in which a spiraling sphere of wind surrounds the user. It is both an offensive and defensive technique, able to demolish a rock to gravel and render an attack useless. Shinto has yet to use it to its fullest capabilities.
Hakkeshô Kaiten (Eight Trigram Palms Heavenly Spin)
A technique exclusive to skilled shinobi within the Hyuuga clan, this is technique in which Shinto will release chakra from all points on her body and created a whirling field of defense that can also prove as an offense. This is similar to the Hageshiikaze, but doesn’t have the extent of its destructive power.
Hakke Rokujû Yonshô (Eight Triagrams Sixty-Four Palms)
In which Shinto unleashes a flurry of Sixty-Four rapid Juuken attacks. This Jutsu is capable of blocking all Chakra flow within one’s body if used correctly.
Hakkeshô Dai Kaiten (Eight Trigram Palms Great Heavenly Spin)
A greater, more devastating version of the Hakkeshô Kaiten.
Juken (Gentle Fist)
The fighting style exclusive to the Hyuuga clan, using their chakra control to release small bursts of chakra when striking a Tenketsu and altering the flow of chakra.
Hakke Hyaku Nijûhachi Shô (Eight Trigrams One Hundred Twenty-Eight Palms)
An attack that is a greater version of the Hakke Rokujû Yonshô, doubling the number of attacks unleashed to One Hundred Twenty-Eight.
Hakke Sanbyaku Rokujûichi Shiki (Eight Triagrams Three Hundred Sixty One Style)
The most devastating of the Palms attacks, this one is guaranteed to block all chakra flow and severely injure the opponent when used correctly. The number of Juuken attacks is increased to Three Hundred Sixty One.
Kasumi Jûsha no Jutsu (Mist Servant Technique)
This technique (which Shinto has only recently learned) allows the user to create a cloud of mist that blankets the area, creating a zero visibility fighting environment in which Shinto has the advantage with her Byakugan, sight hindering substances having no effect on her. This technique is quite useful in many situations.
