--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: Daidoji Karin
Age: 14
Birthday: November 29 (Haha! Same as mine!)
Rank: Genin
Village: Konoha
Appearance: 5’6”; slightly-paled skin; long, black hair tied back in a ponytail; deep blue eyes; black kimono top; dark green capris
History: This history is in first person.
I wasn’t always in Konoha. I was told by my parents that I was born on the outskirts of the Snow Village, wherever that is. As far as I can remember, we had always moved from one place to another. Daddy’s work required him to do that. He was a… I can’t really remember. I don’t think he or Mom ever told me. Was it something that they were ashamed of? I’ll never know. They were killed by an Uchiha when I was 8.
I can still hear my parents’ shrieks of pain and the thuds afterward that were supposed to be my parents dropping to the floor, dead. I can still smell the awful stench of blood. I had seen that evil man kill my parents right in front of me. I was scared enough when I saw him stab them repeatedly with that kunai, but what caused me to feel extremely terrified were his eyes. His eyes were enough to make me feel helpless, even though I already was, and cause me to run away. I ran until my feet couldn’t carry me, and then I crawled. I wanted to get as far away from that man- no, that monster- as I possibly could.
For the next couple of years, until I was 10, I wandered from place to place, constantly begging for food, shelter, and clothes. Only a few families let me enter their home, and even then, it was only so that they could shut me up. At least, that’s what I saw in their eyes as I walked through their doorways, thanking them over and over. There was only one family that did not have that reluctant air about them. They were the Daidoji family.
The family was small, with a widowed mother and two twin boys that were my age. They seemed to be very poor, but they couldn’t be any nicer. The mother was nice enough to put up with me and answer my questions. Her husband had died in the fight to protect the village. He was a brave ninja, she had said, her head held high and her eyes filled with tears. Whether they were of sadness or of pride, I think I will never know. But I knew that she loved her husband very much. That was when I had decided: I would take up the name of Daidoji and become a great ninja. The Daidoji were proud, something that seemed to be missing in my previous family. I wanted to take up the name to feel that pride in my heart. To give me a reason to continue on in life. I wanted to take up the name so that the mother could feel proud of me and say that I was her daughter. That was something my mother seemed to overlook.
Eventually, I had found myself at the entrance of Konoha. I heard that the Village was full of people that were proud of what they were, never afraid to talk about what they did. I wanted to become part of that crowd. It had seemed that people saw that in me as I made my way to the Hokage’s office. They would stare at me and then smile. It wasn’t scary, it was just weird having many eyes on me. What was unnerving was my conversation with the Hokage.
--
“Hello, miss. How are you?” I could tell in the Third Hokage’s voice that he cared about me instantly. And it was strange. No one had shown their concern for me that quickly.
“Um… fine. My name is Daidoji Karin.” I had replied with a shaky voice. Even though he was very kind, I felt intimidated. I was afraid that he would suddenly be unkind and then tell me that I couldn’t stay.
“Nice to meet you, Karin.” The Third Hokage smiled. “So, what brings you to Konoha?”
“Um… well… I would really like to be a ninja.” I said, my voice still shaky.
“I see.” The Hokage scratched his chin in thought. “Where will you be living?”
“Uh, I would really like an apartment as well.” I looked into his eyes, looking for anything that would hint to his anger or disapproval. “Is that too much to ask?”
“No.” the Hokage smiled. “Not at all.’
--
So here I am, in the academy at the age of 14. I really think I should have come to Konoha sooner. That way, I would already be a genin. But, then I wouldn’t have learned anything, now, would I?
Personality: “Pride gives you reason to fight on.” That’s Karin’s motto. She follows by it and always makes sure that she finds pride in everything that she does. So far, she has. She’s ready for the danger that comes with becoming a ninja, though she knows that that kind of danger is a little bit off for her. But she can’t help but be optimistic about it all. She’s very outgoing as well. She’ll be a friend with you, if you want her to be! ^^
Learned Justus: I don’t know how I’m supposed to do this list thing, so I’m just gonna wing it.
Clone Jutsu- Most Shinobis don't perform a Hand Signs to perform the Clone Jutsu. It is the ability to create oneself into clone. When a clone is destroyed, it will pop into smoke.
Replacement Jutsu- Replacement Jutsu is the ability to quickly replace oneself with an object. The object will look like the person but it is really a replacement object. This technique is a quick way of escape.
Transformation Jutsu- Transformation Jutsu is the ability to transform into any person or objects. A normal ninja is not able to detect the real from the fake. An experience ninja will be able to figure out the real person. This is the basic of becoming a Ninja and must successfully perform the Transformation Jutsu in order to graduate from the Academy.
Great Fireball Technique- Katon • Goukakyuu no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Fire Element. The ninja does the necessary hand seals, draws chakra from their mouth into their chest and them immediately exhales it. They then blow a stream of fire which erupts into a large sphere of flames. To better manage the flames the ninja will bring their hand to their mouth to control it.
Mythical Fire Phoenix Technique- Katon • Housenka no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu techinque utilizing the Fire Element. The ninja does the necessary hand seals and then emits a series of small fire balls. The ninja can also hurl a projectile which is covered in these same flames. To the opponent the attack appears to be only the balls of flame, they do not see the hidden threat within the flames. Meaning that even if the flames are put out, the projectiles still converge on the target. The flames can be used to cover different projectiles like shuriken or kunai.
Dragon Fire Technique- Katon • Ryuuka no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Fire Element. After binding the opponent, the ninja uses a guide wire to unleash a large torrential fire burst onto the target.
Water Fang Projectile- Suiton • Suigadan is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Water Element. The ninja does a string of hand seals to cause a nearby body of water to form a spinning drill.
Water Dragon Projectile Technique- Suiton • Suiryuudan no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Water Element. The ninja does a long string of hand seals which then causes a column of water in the form of a dragon to rise from the water and then strike their target.
False Place Technique- Kokohi no Jutsu is a simple Genjutsu technique which changes the appearance of a nearby object.
Demonic Illusion • Hell Viewing Technique- Narakumi no Jutsu is a Genjutsu technique that causes its target to see a horrifying vision. The ninja will use the serpent hand seal to cause a circle of leaves to spin and envelop the target and then fall away. Once cast the world will appear normal to the target until they see the illusion.
Weapons/Items: I'm also just winging it on this one...
Exploding Tag- Exploding tags are commonly used by all ninjas that can be placed on different items, such as a kunai or log, and will explode after a certain amount of time.
Kunai- A kunai is used by all ninjas as a throwing knife or in hand-to-hand combat. It is often carried in a holster on the leg or in a pouch on your hip. A kunai is a small dagger with a round handle and a ring at the end for quick access and used with one finger. A kunai can be used in a combination with an explosive tag or with other weapons. This weapon is a favorite of most Genin.
Makibishi- These small throwing spikes are most often used in booby-traps. Used by all ninjas, this weapon is used during escape routes as a distraction or to stop enemies from pursuing. When used correctly, the metal spikes can penetrate the sole of a shoe, though they sometimes don't cause any damage at all. Though most ninjas use makibishi for slowing down an opponent, some ninja use this tool in battle as a distraction for the primary attack.
Shuriken- They are throwing stars that are places in a pouch on your hip for easy access. The shuriken is a weapon that is commonly used by all ninjas.
