Minako walked back into the arena Lee went into to get his weights. Minako had gone to Kazuma's Areana only to find his match was over. This lead Minako back to find Lee.
"All my teammates who participated are done, and I overheard Neji won his fight, so it's up to you if you want to train or go watch Tenten's match." Minako informed Lee once he retrieved his weights from the Chuunin proctors.

Shin's glared at his opponent, watching as his attacks only resulted in minor wounds. Bastard. The genin ignored Heiji's speach for the most part. It was mostly unimportant blather anyways. But, when the opposing nin withdrew a glass tube, Shin was instantly on alert. The boy watched as the object was prepared and tossed, and the second it hit the ground he jumped back as far as he could. A shard nicked him on the cheek and shoulder. Not too bad, since the glass had scattered in all directions. The nin was careful to manuver himself where there was little glass, and glared at the nin and his summoning.
Bugger.
That was a huge snake. No, huge didn't begin to cover it. It was amazing that the thing didn't get a ring out by just standing. Moving would be a problem for the snake if it didn't want to disqualify itself. ...In fact, that wasn't a bad idea. But first Shin had to get it moving. Pulling up everything he remembered from reading several books on snakes (Snakes had been Shin's favorite animal for some time, and so he did know a good deal about them), the genin began formulating a plan.
Inspiration struck when Shin remembered where you could hold a snake without danger to yourself. It was impossible for a snake to bite right where it's head met it's body. And with that in mind Shin raced towards the anaconda, jumping up and landing on it's thick body. Moving quickly, Shin managed to lodge himself right behind the head, clinging to the snake by it's scales. One scale rubbed irritatingly against the slice on his hand- and Shin hopped this would be enough to protect him from genjutsu.

"You leave the decision to me? Then I vote we spar. Your close-ranged abilities could use some work. Neji and Tenten both are excellent taijutsu users, so I suggest you let me help you out a bit, in case you end up against either of them. Tenten will win, I'm sure, so it would be more beneficial to you to go into the next ground with a few new tricks and some background knowledge."
Lee opened the door to the arena and held it for Minako. "Let's go then. We can go to my old training grounds, where I learned most of my Taijutsu from Gai-sensei."
(Short post, but I'm kinda in a writer's block. I just wanna fight! I watched Lee's Greatest Fights and now I'm all inspired.)

"Hm..."Heiji watched as the Anaconda was attacked by Shin. A snicker erupted from his lip. Heiji quickly body flickered behind Shin. "Pft. Attacking my snake in its weak point good job. But now you gotta let go." Heiji withdrew a kunai and quickly shoved it into Shin's shoulder blade. "On kunai in. I suggest you let go before I lodge more into you. You can hurt my snake all you want. I just hope you dont leave yourself open in the process." Heiji jumped back. Creating more hand movements he smirked. He muttered "Magen: Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu, Demonic Illusion: False Surroundings Technique" Suddenly the ring became pitch dark and Heiji began to laugh. "Now, can you fight when there is nothing to see?

Minako followed Lee as he rushed out of the Areana, promising to take her to the training grounds where he learned his taijutsu. Minako couldn't help but feel excited. Usually she didn't use much taijutsu, she liked to use her bombs and genjutsu plus she had her summoning that Kaji-sensei taught her. So adding taijutsu would round out her overall ninja skills.
"Lee-san how far is it to the training grounds?" Minako asked randomly.

"Not long at all. Two or three minutes if we truck it! Let's go!"
Lee dashed off in the direction of the training grounds, with their tree trunks and clearings for sparring. Man, how he loved to fight. He was so looking forwards to this! His whole body tingled with anticipation. And this time he'd be the teacher! Way cool. He'd be like Gai-sensei!
(WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY short post. God I hate myself.
Skip to training grounds, you post first)

Shin winced as the kunai stabbed lightly into his back. The pain from that mixed with the rubbing on his hand allowed him to stay in touch with his surroundings, however. "You know, you really shouldn't try a genjutsu when you're causing someone pain." One eyebrow rose, at Heiji, before Shin pushed off the back of the snake. The kunai went slightly further into his back, as he pushed against Heiji. Weither the nin lost his place on the snake or not he couldn't tell, but as his feet cleared the scales, Shin was preforming a jutsu. "Kenkaze." He muttered darkly, watching as the blades of air whipped towards the snake from only four feet away. A normal snake would have no problem dodging the attack, but something that big...And if Shin was lucky, the blades would lob the snake's head right off.

Heiji dropped his jutsu. "Smart. Smart little kid you are" He scoffed. "I don't really like physical pain more mental." He yawned and coldly watched the giant snakes head become severed. Heiji let out a dark laugh. "Oh, yeah...now that was entertaining" He began to clap. "But, now to get to a more serious matter...I feel like doing a special little jutsu...so tell me...who should I kill? Rules don't state that I can't 'accedentally' kill someone outside of us...and use them for my technique" He pointed a kunai at a random viewer.

Shin gave Heiji a blank look. "That's fine with me, but I'm not sure it will go down well with the judges. And unless you want to remain a Genin forever..." The genin smirked at Heiji, while sheithing his blade. Hands ran through their seals until black fire appeared around Shin's hand. "But, if you do wish to kill a viewer, be my guest. Waste your weapons and your energy for all I care." Shin gave a half shrug, even as he brought his flaming hands together. The dark colored flames warmed him- they were almost comforting. The mental equivlent of a smile raced through his head, though his face stayed neutral.

"Pft. I wouldn't be breaking rules...however." Heiji scoffed. "It's not like I care to really be a chunnin. I came here you see, with another purpose. To see blood." Heiji yawned. "Flames again? Boy, you don't have many tricks up your sleeve do you? I congrat you for your reaction to my threat of killing someone. Good to know that somebody knows that their priorities lie only in the ring. " Rolling his shoulders in a shrug Heiji remained still. "Go ahead. Use your flames."

Shin shrugged his shoulders at the unexpected compliment. "I don't care what you do, frankly. As long as you don't get in my way. I came here to become a Chunin, not to run around trying to save a bunch of people who aren't smart enough to dodge a kunai." Shin threw the flames on either side of Heiji, watching was several bits of debris caught fire. It began to spread, slowly creeping along the arena. "I don't need many tricks up my sleave, do I? After all, I just killed your summoning and ended all your genjutsu. You are still a genin- I'd imagine you're getting tired." Shin ignored the fact that his arms and legs ached from their battle, and that the skin was pealing slightly on his hand. It was nothing that would hold him back.

Heiji let out a sigh. "If I can't seep into your mind...then I'm done here. But, don't be a fool you are in as much pain as I am." Heiji scoffed. "I came, I saw, I know who to fight when my fate is revealed." Shaking his head he let an evil grin cross his face. "You make a great opponent. You really made me work. First person to succeed in it. I do hope to fight you again." Heiji gave one last snicker. "And when we do...I promise I will go all out, and I wont just be watching to test everything out...even if I see that one of us dies. Because, I feel the need to fight again with you one day...but today is not it." He bowed. "Farewell...and good luck with those petty flames of yours" With a sadistic laugh and a low bow Heiji stepped backwards and jumped off the ring landing out of bounds. "Yeah...next time will be a hell of a battle."

Shin blinked, and just in case he messed up the first time, he blinked again. Just like that? With his lack of concentration the black flames flickered out and died. The genin returned Heiji's bow, as this former opponent left. "Yes...it will be."
Heaving a great sigh, Shin gathered the two kuani he had poised for attack and put them back in his bag, before following Heiji out of the arena. The boy ran a hand through his hair, trying fruitlessly to smooth down his bangs, as he headed towards the medical area to get fixed up. He coudn't believe it- he had won his first round. And boy did he need a nap.
