(Team Anko arrives fresh from the Hokage Palace for more Testign training dealies...)
In the perimeter of the Forest, just out of sight of the main barrier fence, Anko landed on a stout tree branch with a faint clop, stretching her hands and waiting for her new aprentisce to catch up. Fun times, odd times... See how much Minako could handle and then see what she coudl actually teach the girl. After that Shikamaru kid, the female Juunin no longer assumed she knew more than the students. Heck, in ten years time, most of them would probably be better Ninja than she was today.
Oh well. She'd do what she could and leave the rest of it to chance. Now, where was Minako? If she couldn't keep on a simple sprint-jump through the city, they had ALOT of work to do.

Minako arrived after Anko, "Okay, I'm here," She said while partialy focusing on what was behind the metal fence with its dozens of warning signs plastered to it. Though the last year the chuunin exams did not feature the part of the test that included the Forest of Death, but she had heard that others students had had to try to survive five days in there.
Warily she looked at Anko, "No what Anko-sensei?"

"Now, we see how good that head of yours is in a crisis, fighting a technically superior foe," monotoned Anko in reply, smiling darkly to herself, "Let's see... I'll start with something fancy and we can work our way down." With this, Anko leapt backwards into the treeline of the Forest, hands flashing rapidly through her summon. Landing on a branch in crouch, she nicked her plam on a kunai and slammed the bleeding apendage on the branch.
A burst of smoke engulfed the female Juunin, clearing to reveal her atop a monstrous blue serpent the length of three school buses. A whispered set of instructions and Anko leapt clear, leaving the massive hissing creature on an intercept course for Minako.

Minako listened to Anko's words. Now she'd have to show Anko all she could do, seemed fair enough. How could Anko teach her things if she didn't know her strengths and weaknesses. She saw Anko draw a bit of blood after using some handsigns. She recognized this kind of jutsu right away, A summon,
An enormous blue snake shot out of a cloud of smoke, zooming straight for her, Oh no, Minako thought seeing the large creature shoot itself at her. Minako placed an explosive note on the ground before she leapt out of the way of the serpents jaws, and landed on a nearby tree.

The serpent hit the ground with a colossal thud, the explosive note throwing the thick-skinned monster into a tree trunk. It hissed angerly, coiling around the trees before lunging upwards at Minako again, simple mind filled with the impulse to batter her into submission, slit pupils on its target, constrictor's instincts tempered by a trace of cleverness.
Anko leapt into motion as the serpent offered an oh-so-violent distraction, flickering above and behind her new aprentisce with a kunai in either hand. Both weapons flew for Minako, two subtle threads amid the obviosu danger of the summon. She smiled to herself, noting the fact that the Chuunin hadn't used the Technique Neutralize, keeping her chakra open. Clever if she could avoid or kill the summon...

Minako continued to keep her eye on the snake as it began its furious lunge toward her again. She rapidly tried to come up with anything she knew about snakes. She knew that they smelled with their tounge, and could detect motion through vibrations. So Minako would have to be quick and quiet.
The snake lunged at her hissing angrily. Minako quickly detected another motion behind her. Minako grinned, there was a simple way out of this. Up. Minako quickly jumped up higher into the tree dodging both Anko and the snake. She threw one of her poison smoke bombs down at them as she asended higher into the tree.
Once safely on a branch, Minako looked down at Anko and waggled her finger tauntingly. "I have already fallen for that twice today, it won't happen again."

Anko's answer was an amused head shake as she leapt backwards clear of the poison gas, breath held. The serpent was less lucky recoiling from the gas with another low hiss. It hit the forest floor, slithering around to flank its prey, branches cracking under its bulk, gathering to attack again once it cleaned the poison out of its nostrils.
Anko's fingers flashed, the Juunin engulfed by smoke that cleared to show three aparent Nin bouncing off in different directions, products of the Clone Jutsu. "We'll see," came her answer from three voices, the figures coming back back in in sequential attacks.
All three were clones, the real Anko flickering in behind Minako and releasing a point-blank blast of flame from her mouth courtesy of the Fire Dragon Technique.

Minako frowned, three Anko's came at her, They're clones She created three of her own clones, and let them go after the clones. She jumped up as the real Anko appeared behind her again, and shot a blast of fire at her. But Minako had already made it safely to another branch. "Told you I would fall for it again," She called out to Anko.
The real Minako quickly twirled her tiny explosive pouch...but it wasn't in actuality an exploding pouch, it was made for freezing. Whatever the tiny little pouch came in contact with, would freeze. Minako grinned as her pouch sailed through the air. Now was her chance. She performed quick handsigns, and disappeared into air. Actually she was using her Tree Binding genjutsu. "I'll hide out until I see what happens," She muttered quietly, hiding inside one of the trees near Anko.

Dropping to a lower branch to avoid the ice bomb, Anko mananged to get her hands together for Kai as the Genjutsu took shape around her, binding the Juunin in illusionary tree limbs after she landed. "Quicker than I thought," she agreed good-naturedly, watching the snake home in on Minako's sancutary, letting the Jutsu stand for now, "But can you keep it up, eh?"
The giant serpent wrapped it's coils around Minako's hidey-hole, a quick muscle spasm snapping the tree at it's base and sending it toppling. It moved out of the path of the falling tree, tongue flickering as it waited for the girl to emerge again.

Crouched on the ground, browsing through a small black book, he scanned rapidly from one page to the other, thinking silently to himself, and muttering quietly. "Where's that messenger, Danzo... they're late... and I need that new Bingo Book..." With a snap, he shut the book, glancing up as the faint sounds of a battle reached his ears. [Reference: Anko; Minako.]
"Who could be in the Forest of Death? ...Interesting." He himself wasnt even supposed to be in Konoha, but Danzo needed to give him a new book, and a message, but he didnt want to put any plans in jeopardy by having them send a shinobi out of the gates of the village. Standing up, he pulled his black cloak around him, reaching for his mask and pulling it over his face. Settling the wide straw hat on his head, the brim low, he paused, then disappeared in a black blur.
Fading back into view behind a tree about 30 yards from the fighting pair, he watched as the tree fell. He wasnt too worried about them discovering him, because his chakra level was nowhere near as high as other powerful shinobi - something that often led others to underestimate him. But even if they did find him... well, he would evade them, not fight.
Pulling out a small scroll, he laid it out on the ground behind the tree, then slammed his palm into it. "Summoning Scroll: Master Scroll." Hidden from view behind the tree, a huge scroll dropped to the ground and an empty section was revealed. Kneeling, he watched Anko and Minako intently, his left hovering over the scroll. "Let's see if they have any interesting jutsu..."

A fast downward motion told Minako she was falling, and fast. The tree she had taken santuary in was snapped by the snake and was now tumbling towards the ground. Quickly she tugged herself out of the tree, watching the remains tumble on downward. She reached into her pouch and pulled out her coil of wire. Attaching one end of the wire to the kunai, she spun it around and attached it to a tree limb nearby, pulling herself up.
The sharp snapping noise of the tree beneath her, told her it had made landfall. By it's earsplitting sound, Minako was grateful she had not still be inside. Minako turned to Anko and grinned, "You have a good eye for genjutsu," She said impressed.
Minako drew a long string of exploding tags and began to hope branch to branch, entangling the string with the leaves and twigs. Quickly finishing that she hopped back to her original branch and held the loose end of the rope tightly. "One false move, and these trees go boom," She said extending her hand making sure Anko could see she had the string in her hand.

Watching in silence, he glanced skyward. Suddenly aware of the time, he knew he had to get a move on, he didnt have time to stick around. The scroll disappeared into chakra induced smoke, and he simply faded away.
